WACT – We Are Changing Together

WACT - We Are Changing Together develops training programs to empower Changemakers, socially engaged individuals with strong entrepreneurial skills, to solve social and environmental challenges.

WACT was founded by a group of friends studying at Nova SBE who wanted to make a difference in the world. They had all participated in various volunteering programs and it was in Sao Tome and Principe where they started this adventure. There they came into contact with another reality, learned and watched the impact that their actions could have on the environment around them. They realized that everyone needed to have access to the necessary tools to generate positive change in themselves and others. And it was by looking at volunteering in a different way that WACT, a space for change and the development of Changemakers, emerged!

WACT has the ability to act according to a non-welfarism principle, believing that the best way to change the world is not solely by giving but by sharing knowledge, training people, and achieving equivalent benefits for the volunteer as well as to the local community. We are truly changing together

WACT develops training programs that adapt to your willingness to change and time available. They are available both in Portuguese and English. Welcome!

WACT Spirit | Training Programs
Spirit Impact

Impact is a program for those seeking the opportunity to develop personal, social, and technical skills in the area of social entrepreneurship through the creation and implementation of a pilot project in Sao Tome and Principe. This pilot's objective is to give participants the opportunity to test the project idea and acquire the necessary skills so they can be a real agent of change. With these skills, trainees will be able to be social entrepreneurs and continue to change the world through their ideas and projects.

Spirit Experience

An intercultural volunteering program, in partnership with local organizations, for a period of three weeks. Rich in personal and social learning, it is aimed at those who want to participate in solving problems identified by local organizations. In this experience, trainees will acquire essential tools for volunteering and intercultural learning and still experience incredible moments of personal sharing and discovery!

Spirit Express

An intense, dynamic and practical training, 100% online, where you will have the opportunity to meet incredible Changemakers and acquire technical tools in the area of entrepreneurship.

Act, The Floor is Yours!

Omnis Civitas Contra se Divisa non stabit is the moto commanding our alma mater. It literally means that every city divided against itself will vanish. That is exactly what we, at Nova Debate, embraced over the last term and what we should always aim at, especially in times like the ones we are going through now.

Companies are increasingly willing to take risks

Isabel Almeida e Brito e Margarida Castro Caldas shared with PME Magazine the role that the Inclusive Community Forum (ICF) has been playing towards the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market. The community involvement and the growing commitment of companies towards inclusion, has been key to start transforming the recruitment market, and impressive for ICF to testify. Get to know more about ICF and its partners committed to inclusion, reading this article or checking the project's website.

BOLD Leadership: Nova SBE's Innovative Program for Future Leaders

In an era defined by rapid change and global challenges, the question of what it takes to be an outstanding leader in the 21st century becomes increasingly crucial. Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) has stepped up to address this query with its groundbreaking initiative: BOLD – Be an Outstanding Leader. This senior manager training program not only equips participants with essential skills but also aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16), emphasizing the role of leadership in creating positive societal impact.

Nova SBE for Peace and Togetherness

Though we come together to create a better future, it is now at risk unless we choose to fight for it. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, who are enduring this unimaginable suffering and remain committed to education as a bridge to a better and more peaceful world. Now more than ever. And this is our Role to Play.

We all have a role to play

We are on a mission to be a community dedicated to the development of talent and knowledge that impacts the world.

With just ten years to go, an ambitious global effort is underway to deliver the 2030 promise. We want to take a stand and we are calling on our community to showcase how they are contributing to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, whilst influencing more and more people to unravel their role to play.

Here, you will find four different ways your ideas can flourish, dialogue can be enhanced, and action can take place. You can choose one or all four, and Nova SBE will be there to support you all the way and guarantee tangible change.

We all have a role to play, and this is your way in.
