The campaign that made a difference at GALP
The Inclusive Community Forum recorded a series of testimonies from companies that have signed the Commitment to Inclusion about the challenges these companies face, the strategies used to surpass them, and suggestions to other organizations on the path to implementing an inclusive recruitment.
There are different ways that companies can follow to hire people with disabilities. On the one hand, they can adapt their internal recruitment processes, making them more inclusive. On the other hand, they can reach out to external partners specialized in the inclusion of people with disabilities, such as:
• Recruitment and selection companies as Argo Partners, Michael Page, Randstad, and Your People;
• Social organizations specialized in inclusive recruitment;
• Social organizations in the disability field that have employment programs.
Galp chose to follow the internal recruitment process and realized that they didn’t have a pool of candidates with disabilities. To solve this obstacle, Galp launched an internal campaign challenging their employees to identify people with disabilities looking for a job in their own personal and professional networks.
The campaign was a success! Galp received several profiles and filled in different open positions.
