Let's discuss students' evaluation?

In the last two years, because of the covid-19 pandemic, national exams did not count towards the conclusion of secondary subjects but only towards access to higher education. Does it make sense for this to become the rule from now on? The topic is analyzed and discussed in this episode of Zona de Impacto by researchers and students from Nova SBE Catarina Ângelo and Pedro Freitas, and Professor Ana Balcão Reis.

In the last two years, national exams did not count towards completing secondary subjects, but only towards access to higher education. The adaptation was a result of the pandemic, but the Minister of Education has already shown himself to be in favor of this becoming the rule. The problem is that in this way, the regulatory effect on the grades given by teachers in each school is lost, and the subjectivity of the assessment is accentuated, benefiting some and harming others, warn researchers from Nova SBE.

In the fourth episode of Zona de Impacto, an Expresso podcast in partnership with NOVA SBE (Nova School of Business and Economics), we spoke with Catarina Ângelo and Pedro Freitas, researchers and PhD students at Nova SBE.

Because this is an issue that concerns both students and teachers, Ana Balcão Reis, Associate Professor at Nova SBE and specialized in Education Economics, joined us.

The moderation was in charge of the journalist, specialist in Education, Isabel Leiria.
