Surf Social Wave Association partnering with Nova SBE for unemployment

The Surf Social Wave Association is a partner organization of Nova SBE. SSW uses Surf as a tool to empower unemployed people to return to the labor market. The Surf Social Wave Association Project aims to promote the development of skills for employability of people over 18, who are unemployed or looking for their first job.


The Surf Social Wave Association codes a DCTM © process, (Deconstruction, Construction, Tools and Mentoring) that gave rise to the Surf Program for Employability. It has been running 4 editions per year since 2019, with a success rate of around 70%.

Each edition welcomes between 10 to 12 participants, and the entire program has already attended about 100 people.

Surfing is a base that, together with others, will support participants in designing and implementing their personal/professional path, enhancing the activity and technical know-how of the various possible work contexts in the area of ​​surfing.

The program takes place in person at both Nova SBE and Carcavelos Beach, for 5 weeks, and includes the following activities: Surf Classes, Yoga, Individual Coaching, Group Coaching and Competences' Development Sessions with key Faculty from Nova SBE and other experts from different areas (Economics, Accounting and Finance, Communication and Marketing, Active job search, Management and Planning, Entrepreneurship.) After finishing the five week cycle, the program follows by with 16 weeks of mentoring for the development of their project.
