Nova SBE on the team of development of an Ocean degree (a world first!)

Antonieta Cunha e Sá, Economics Professor at Nova SBE, is part of the new Ocean degree core faculty

The "Ocean" Degree, presented during the Oceans Conference, has its approval to be submitted this month to the Agência de Avaliação e Acreditação do Ensino Superior. A three-year interdisciplinary course will be a world first and is a partnership between Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Universidade do Algarve. Students will study topics related to the ocean to gain a transversal vision that allows them to work in the private or public sector, to help companies to position themselves by finding new forms of business, creating companies, or support institutions to design and consolidate public policies in the ocean area. To fulfill the course objective are also involved external partner entities, which will participate in the teaching of subjects ranging from oceanography to nautical space planning, going through interdisciplinary challenges related to the ocean or Law and Sustainability. The faculty team core members are Assunção Cristas (Nova School of Law) Júlia Seixas (FCT), Antonieta Cunha e Sá (Nova SBE), Regina Salvador (FCSH) and Roberto Henrique (IMS).
