Eduardo Costa, of Nova SBE Health Economics & Management Knowledge Center, analyzed for Público whether the 100 million euros of the Health budget to hire 4200 professionals will be enough.

“The 60 million euros for the risk subsidy for professionals who are at the forefront of combating the pandemic will be taken out of this amount, and six million will be used to hire 261 new health emergency workers. It would be necessary to have more detailed information to understand if this amount will be sufficient”, notes Eduardo Costa.
