Nova Junior Consulting – Student Club!

Nova Junior Consulting is Nova SBE’s junior enterprise dedicated to providing strategic consulting services. Beyond training NJC students through real-life challenges with corporate organizations, this student club also engages with NGOs acting in the local community. Find out their projects!

NJC developed three pro-bono projects for NGOs, as part of their social responsibility program which aims at addressing problems in the community. The projects were as follows:

  • Ajuda de Mãe works with pregnant mothers in need and delivers support to them right after the birth of their childrens. NJC provided recommendations regarding the portfolio of services under their “Maes à Obra Program” as well as possible solutions to help AdM’s main problems such as earlier identification of mothers in need, better approach strategies, lack of reach, among others.
  • Biovilla is situated in Serra da Arrábida and approached NJC for a project regarding their natural oils and soaps. NJC supported Biovilla by developing an industry-wide benchmark identifying the main competitors in the market they want to enter and best practices regarding commercialization, promotion and sales. NJC also helped them to segment and define their target market, as well as provided recommendations on all these topics
  • Development of a detailed financial plan for a Hospital Ship for Fundação Alma Lusa. The main goal is to help children grow under good physical and medical conditions, as well as provide vaccination and accommodation when necessary. The ship will lay in São Tomé e Principe and other PALOP countries.

Partnerships for Progress: The Role of Universities in Achieving the SDGs in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

This paper was hold by students in the following of Global Impact Mindset: UN SDG Module of NOVA SBE. The article highlights the crucial role of partnerships between universities, governments, and communities in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The article argues that these partnerships can help universities in LMICs to address the challenges of expanding research and academic capacity while maintaining equitable access, promote equitable access to education and research, and design solutions that are responsive to the unique needs and challenges facing these groups. The article also emphasizes that universities in LMICs can act as a bridge between different sectors, facilitating collaboration and cooperation towards the common goal of sustainable development.

Here, you will find four different ways your ideas can flourish, dialogue can be enhanced, and action can take place. You can choose one or all four, and Nova SBE will be there to support you all the way and guarantee tangible change.
